Evening Wake I: Hydrography of a Nation's Wet Dream
FAIR residency at FABRIKKEN for Kunst og Design March/April 2018 concluded with this performance, which is simultane- ously the beginning her new series Evening Wake, referring to the historic Icelandic concept of Kvöldvaka signifying the time of day set aside for storytelling and poetry recital.
Weaving together narrations of white colonial innocence that reveal themselves as emblems in public space and biopolitical osmotic acts in terms of bodies and heavy waters of the Atlantic Ocean, I made an act of reclaiming figures that have long been tied to a frozen heritage site in the North.
