As a representative of the Cross Cultural Competency Center I entered the city of Vienna with a simple wooden stand and performed different interventions on different locations for one week. The interventions were all based on my thoughts about how different cul- tures meet in public spaces that are loaded with their own history and context. Cross cultural competency center is my reference to an actually existing ccc-center in Vienna that is based in the business department of the University of Vienna. The center’s main topic is to deal with how business communications in global society can be made more efficient with the right research and knowledge. With my abstract interventions I asked the same questions as the center in Vienna but from my own stand point. Where does our own basic hu- man communications lie inside the frame that is given by our culture and public space? How do we position ourself in the public space of the global community?
